Stone Ridge is seeking a Facilities Manager to begin on August 1, 2022.

Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten.  With over 700 students and rooted in the Goals of Sacred Heart education, Stone Ridge inspires young women to lead and serve, through lives of purpose that integrate faith, intellect, community, social action, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom.

The Facilities Manager reports to the Director of Facilities and advances all aspects of maintenance, improvements, and housekeeping for Stone Ridge’s 35 acre campus, including 300,000 square feet of academic buildings, three gymnasiums, a natatorium, artificial and natural turf fields, and multiple auxiliary buildings. A motivated individual, with excellent supervisory and communication skills, the Facilities Manager oversees the general operations and maintenance of all campus buildings and grounds and is tasked with providing top niche customer service to the faculty, staff and students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing the Maintenance and Housekeeping staff’s daily work schedules, vacations, etc. to assure adequate staff coverage to meet the needs of the school and provide a top-notch customer service experience for faculty, staff, students and visitors.
  • Organizing and supervising the daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and specific tasks to assure work required is scheduled, assigned, and completed 
  • Supervising all work of the Maintenance Staff (6) and Housekeeping Staff (10), ensuring safety and responsibility
  • Completing all work orders utilizing the varying skills of the Maintenance Staff
  • Organizing all event set-up and break down needs for school functions.
  • Attending to hands-on preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs as needed
  • Working individually and/or utilizing the in-house Maintenance Staff to facilitate: landscaping and grounds maintenance, painting, light construction jobs, vehicle maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.
  • Overseeing all Maintenance Employee safety training in collaboration with the Director of Facilities.
  • Monitoring school security and life safety systems in collaboration with the Director of Safety & Security.
  • Working closely with the Director of Facilities to ensure all buildings are safe and in good operating condition and that all necessary equipment, etc., is budgeted.

The desired candidate holds 10+ years of experience in buildings and grounds maintenance with a proven record for responsibility and supervisory success. The Facilities Manager is able to perform all duties of the job, including physical demands such as: walking or standing for extended periods; climbing stairs and lifting up to 20lbs. of equipment; hearing alarms, bells, and horns; driving an automobile; and ability to use standard office equipment and software. A candidate who is able to communicate effectively and clearly to a team is preferred, as is someone who possesses experience with one or more trades (mechanical equipment, carpentry, hand tools,  plumbing and electrical).

Compensation includes housing, competitive benefits, and salary commensurate with experience. The Facilities Manager is required to live in School-provided housing (currently a three-bedroom house adjacent to campus); there is no rental charge but the Facilities Manager is responsible for utilities and normal upkeep that would be expected of any tenant. Details would be specified in a housing agreement.
