Organization Overview: Main Line School Night is dedicated to making a positive impact on our community by providing adult education classes and experiences that improve the quality of life in our community, foster an environment of empathy and understanding and promote life-long learning. We rely heavily on tuition to maintain our programs and services, and we are seeking a Director of Development to lead our fundraising growth efforts so we can continue to offer affordable classes and reach more students by utilizing technology and satellite locations.
Position Overview: The Director of Development will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, capital improvement campaigns, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals and strategies and will manage a small team of fundraising professionals and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals.
- Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors.
- Grow and manage the membership campaign, implementing prospect research and moves management strategy.
- Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.
- Manage and lead a team of fundraising professionals, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to develop fundraising strategies and goals.
- Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business development and/or administration, or experience in fund development in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials, public speaking and relationship management.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing a team of fundraising professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, and volunteers.
- Experience with fundraising software and donor databases.
- A deep commitment to the mission and values of our organization.
This is a full-time, hybrid position with occasional evening and weekend requirements. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
